Install the website Connector

CopyLoop Connector is the site-level connection for campaign source, page activity, form journeys, return visits, and supported commerce activity. Install it once per source and verify a live visit before relying on reports or triggers.

  1. Open Settings → Integrations.
  2. Find CopyLoop Connector and choose Connect.
  3. Enter a clear source name and the website URL.
  4. Choose WordPress plugin or JavaScript snippet.
  5. Choose the consent setup.
  6. Review the suggested allowed origins.
  7. Choose Create Connector.

CopyLoop creates a site key and shows the installation path.

The available choices can include:

  • CopyLoop consent banner: use CopyLoop’s basic banner and preferences control.
  • Existing consent tool: connect an existing CMP such as OneTrust or Cookiebot.
  • Google Consent Mode: read consent state from the site’s Google tag setup.
  • Manual JavaScript consent: let the site’s code pass consent state to the Connector.
  • Customer-managed consent: the site handles notice and preferences outside CopyLoop.
  • Strict fallback: only setup diagnostics are stored until consent is connected.

Choose the path that reflects the site’s real privacy implementation. Do not select customer-managed consent merely to hide a banner.

  1. Download the plugin from the Connector setup.
  2. In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  3. Upload, install, and activate the CopyLoop plugin.
  4. Open the plugin settings.
  5. Paste the site key and CopyLoop connection URL shown in the app.
  6. Save the settings.
  7. Visit the public website once in a new browser session.

Return to CopyLoop and confirm the installed version is current. Update the plugin when the setup panel reports that the installed version is behind.

  1. Copy the Site-wide Connector snippet.
  2. Place it once in the site’s shared layout so it loads on every intended page.
  3. Do not alter the site key, endpoint, or consent configuration.
  4. Deploy the site.
  5. Visit the public site in a new browser session.

Do not paste the snippet separately into every form or page.

Open the Connector’s Verify step. A healthy source confirms that CopyLoop received website activity.

If it remains in “waiting”:

  • confirm the production page includes the current snippet or active plugin
  • confirm the visited origin matches an allowed origin
  • check browser content-security or script-blocking errors
  • check that the source is not paused
  • confirm the consent mode permits more than setup diagnostics for your test
  • clear caches after a plugin or site deployment

For new lead capture, CopyLoop Forms is the simplest path because the form, validation, contact creation, and source history share one setup.

For supported existing WordPress forms:

  1. Generate the form connection secret in the Connector.
  2. Copy it immediately into the WordPress plugin settings.
  3. Keep it out of browser code, page HTML, hidden fields, and tag managers.
  4. Submit one test form.
  5. Confirm Connected submits, Contacts captured, and Last received update.

For WooCommerce, complete the commerce step and verify a permitted test journey before activating order or cart automations. Anonymous commerce activity should remain analytics-only until CopyLoop can match it to an eligible known contact.

Pause a test or temporarily unused source when you want to stop new collection but preserve its site key and reporting history. Resume it later with the same source identity.

After connection:

  1. Open Analytics → Lead Sources & Forms for visit and form reporting.
  2. Use Data Quality when counts or identity look wrong.
  3. Create a small automation only after the source event is visible.
  4. Confirm an ineligible or non-consented test does not start a marketing workflow.
