Broadcasts

A broadcast is a one-time delivery of a published email to an audience. It is different from a planning campaign, which stores context for content generation, and from an automation, which can enroll contacts repeatedly based on triggers.

A broadcast needs:

  • a published email
  • at least one included contact list
  • valid list and segment selections
  • a verified, applicable sending domain
  • a valid sender and reply-to address
  • a sendable audience after suppression and validation
  • required company-address and unsubscribe information

A broadcast can combine included and excluded lists and segments. CopyLoop prevents direct include and exclude overlap and applies suppression and eligibility rules before delivery.

Segment membership can change. Review the final count close to scheduling, especially after a CRM sync or large import.

Delivery can be blocked by:

  • missing subject or content
  • no included audience
  • missing or deleted lists or segments
  • overlapping include/exclude selections
  • a segment projection that is still refreshing
  • no eligible recipients
  • a missing, unverified, or inapplicable sending domain
  • a sender address that does not match the domain
  • an invalid reply-to address
  • unknown merge fields
  • missing company-address details

Resolve the underlying configuration instead of editing around a blocker.

Common broadcast states include:

  • Draft: content, audience, and delivery settings can still be prepared.
  • Scheduled or queued: delivery is planned but has not completed.
  • Sending: recipients are being processed.
  • Paused: delivery is intentionally stopped and may be resumable.
  • Sent: the planned delivery completed.
  • Cancelled: the remaining delivery was stopped.

The available pause, resume, retry, or cancel control depends on the current delivery state. Use the latest schedule attempt and displayed forecast when diagnosing an interrupted send.

A test send can verify content and sender behavior without a production audience. It still needs a usable message and sender path, but it does not prove that the production list, segment, schedule, or suppression result is correct.

The broadcast detail and Analytics can show delivery, engagement, links, device, bounce, and time-to-click information, plus report preview or export where available.
