Sending domains
A sending domain proves that your organization controls the domain used for email and gives receiving providers the authentication signals needed to evaluate it.
Before you add a domain
Section titled “Before you add a domain”Choose a domain or subdomain approved for marketing email, and identify:
- the DNS administrator
- the sender addresses that will use it
- any existing provider records
- the branded tracking-domain plan
- the person responsible for deliverability issues
Do not delete or replace an existing email record without understanding what currently depends on it.
Add and verify the domain
Section titled “Add and verify the domain”- Open Settings → Sending Domains.
- Add the domain or approved subdomain.
- Copy each DNS record exactly into the DNS provider.
- Wait for DNS propagation.
- Return to CopyLoop and refresh verification.
- Review authentication status and any warning shown for the domain.
- Confirm the From address uses the verified domain.
Use the record names and values CopyLoop displays. Do not infer them from this guide; they are specific to the domain and account.
Tracking domains
Section titled “Tracking domains”A branded tracking domain controls the host used by tracked links and related email activity. Use one where supported so the visible sender and link identity remain aligned.
Tracking-domain verification is separate from message content. Check it when links use an unexpected host or a broadcast readiness check reports a mismatch.
Before the first production send
Section titled “Before the first production send”- domain status is verified
- authentication checks do not show a blocking problem
- sender address matches the domain
- reply-to address is valid
- tracking links use the intended host
- company address and unsubscribe behavior are configured
- the internal test message arrived as expected
Troubleshoot verification
Section titled “Troubleshoot verification”If a record does not verify:
- compare the DNS name, type, and value character for character
- check whether the DNS provider automatically appended the root domain
- remove accidental quotation marks or whitespace
- wait for the provider’s TTL and propagation
- check for a conflicting record from another sender
- confirm you changed the authoritative DNS account
If the domain verifies but the broadcast is blocked, check From-domain alignment, reply-to, tracking-domain status, and the brand selected by the email.
Protect sender health
Section titled “Protect sender health”Verification is only the beginning. Increase volume gradually, use permissioned audiences, monitor bounces and complaints, and stop when recipient quality or authentication changes unexpectedly. See Analytics and Contact hygiene.
